Coolidge Municipal Airport Soaring With Business Activity

Coolidge Municipal Airport is in the midst of a renaissance. The airport has been home to a number of businesses that have invested in the facility, including new ones looking to expand their existing operations. The economic development team has been working hard to attract new businesses and create an attractive business environment for existing ones. And the airport's infrastructure is being expanded to support this growth — ensuring its future as a hub for commerce in the region.

New Business Activity

Coolidge Municipal Airport has become a hot spot for businesses.

  • ecube located its first U.S. based operation at the airport in October 2022. They specialize in end of life aircraft. Coolidge Municipal Airport can accommodate a wide selection of airplanes from general aviation to commercial jetliners. https://www.ecube.aero/

  • Daycraft Systems opened a defense manufacturing facility at the airport in August 2021. https://daycraftsystems.com/

  • The airport has also been the backdrop of movies like the Fast and the Furious, photo shoots for Sports Illustrated and even a commercial for Budweiser.

Location

Coolidge Municipal Airport is located within close proximity to Interstate 8 & 10 and about 55 miles south of Phoenix and about 65 miles north of Tucson. It’s location between the two major cities in Arizona makes it a unique opportunity for business to be centrally located.

Airport Infrastructure

With the increased business activity, the airport is taking steps to expand its infrastructure. The airport has recently upgraded their runways 5/23, added enhanced internet, above ground fuel farm and will be expanding power options in 2023.

The Opportunity

The future is bright for the Coolidge Municipal Airport. In addition to serving as a regional hub for private aviation and flight training, it's also home to an active community of businesses that benefit from its proximity to Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (AZA). One unique aspect of this small municipal airport is its focus on providing services and opportunities in support of local residents—including a monthly Fly-In where the public can get an up close look at various aircraft while enjoying a breakfast for purchase by the Coolidge Lions organization. Fly-Ins runs October - April from 7am-10am.
